FACING THE MAN IN GREEN

Finding yourself in a case that sounds like in disciplinary case is not good for the stomach neither does it sound pleasing to the hear. All along I have heard of people sleeping in prisons cells, writing statements or being summoned by the security officer.

I had not thought of this myself not even in my day dreams until that Wednesday evening when my friend's laptop was stolen in my room. I had rushed from the library where I was revising for my quantitative techniques paper to my room after receiving the sad news. On arriving to my room, I found the door wide open and what greeted my eyes made a cold chill down my spine. My mind stopped thinking for a while as I remained damn founded ot knowing where to star.

"Who are the real occupants of this room?", the man at last roared, I knew I was in trouble and had to cook what to say quickly, but my mind was in dilemma, I was not sure of the information they had received earlier concerning the same from my friend. The men had clad in green, having a strong masculinity and a medium height. I sensed that they were ready to drag me to their office if I refuse to cooperate. They didn't give me time to ripen the story, they kept insisting that I give the answer immediately.

WANAUME KUKOSA WAKE

WHAT NEXT AFTER THE TERROR ATTACKS?

Terrorism. Martyrdom. Human butchery. Kidnap.Hostage.Murder threats.Bomb blasts.Massacre. Kenyan citizens are tired and no longer live in peace. Their lives are being claimed every second amidst their innocence.

What a living hell they have been exposed to with no jurisdiction. As days goes by the situation worsens with no solutions to the siege. Al-shabaab militia have sworn to death, to continue with their operation spill more blood on Kenyan towns and campuses. The bandits and cattle rustlers on the other hand are busy updating their income status by robbing thousand heads of cattle from the neighboring communities.

If only they could be given the choices to travel through time-space, they could have evacuated the place. They could have traveled to the future to enjoy life after the 21st century or learn new tactics to demolish Al shabaab operations before coming back. Some could have traveled back to the ancient times where human life was respected and honored.

Garrisa victims could have traveled through time-space, celebrated five birthdays in another century then return back to our time only to find their classmates aging with sixty five years and retired.

Time-space travel is expensive and a nightmare to Kenyans. It is impossible for them to travel through time-space using timestones or other time travel machines. The government in collaboration with the intelligence system ought to do something to avert bloodshed in the country.

WHAT DISAPPOINTS MOST IN CAMPUS

The unnecessary noise heard in campus during night hours are scary. They make the neighbourhood believe that a disaster has occured. Last night at arround 2pm was the worse moments ever. Screams and shouts were all over between hostel H and J. Innocent students had to jump out of their beds.

Some got injured in the process of trying to salvage their lives. They thought the worse had happened. The first thing to ring in ones mind is a fire outbreak, robbery or another strike. "Where is my shoe? My wallet? I can't find my phone." This was what could be heard from the neighboring rooms only to realize later that the screams were shouts of joy. What a disappointment?

Traditionally, sounds made such as woo oi!!! are meant to alert people of an impending disaster or bad omen. It was never allowed for a person to make such sounds in vain. This was a believe that if such sounds are made in vain then it would be difficult to get assistance when a serious attack or disaster occurs. Nowadays, people have lost this idea and use woo oi!! to express joy instead of hurrah!or ha lillili!! a team had won a match.

Students in Moi University should avoid unnecessary noise as it distracts peace other people have and make them scared. At times it wakes one from sleep, an action that may cause serious injuries to the victim or lead to death due to shock. When a serious disaster occurs assistance may not be offered.

FUNGAL INFECTION AMONG THE CAMPUS DWELLERS

“Your health is your wealth,” Ms Tietie MUSO health director at Moi University said during a seminar held today at the student center conference hall. She had invited doctor Oganda from the school of health sciences to educate the students on fungal, yeast and bacterial infections in human sexuality.

Dr. Oganda said that burning sensation in the inner reproductive organs is as a result of fungal or yeast infections. Major transmission mode is unprotected sexual intercourse. Other forms could be unhygienic washrooms which may spread infections from a carrier who after using the facility goes without disinfecting the place.

Considering the state of ablutions in Moi University infections are at a high rate since the facilities used for flashing waste products are worn out. Waste substances accumulate on the sit up bowels as several users go without flashing the waste.

The most notorious hostel which such challenges is hostel J. the odor around the hostel’s surrounding portrays the state of hygiene in the place. Cleaners have a problem with this situation, at times they are forced to write notices on the doors hoping that the situation will improve.

Personal hygiene also need to be considered. Bathing with plenty water will help reduce the rate of infection. Dr. Oganda advised the students to report any cases of unhygienic conditions within campus so that the best action is taken immediately for better health sanitation.
